The SCWCC announces 2018 Accolades Business Leader of the Year and Annual Awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Aug. 21, 2018 – The Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 2018 Accolades Business Leader of the Year, Young Professional of the Year, Minority Owned Business of the Year, and Member of the Year.

During a luncheon and award ceremony at The Antlers Hotel, one woman from each of four categories was given an award.

“We are honored to announce these winners and their contributions to the business community,” said Lola Woloch, President & CEO of the SCWCC. “These professionals go above and beyond their duties to serve the community, provide leadership, and impact economic vitality the Women’s Chamber is privileged to highlight their talents and achievements.”

During the event, Lieutenant General (RET) Susan J. Helms, USAF, was the keynote speaker. She spoke on confidence, determination, seizing opportunity, and leveraging your support team. As well as giving insight into her time as an astronaut and how that experience shaped the person she is today.

The Master of Ceremonies was Lauren Ferrara, who joined the FOX21 team as the weekday evening anchor in October of 2013, and has appeared on FOX News, CNN, and the Colbert Report.

Since 1993, the SCWCC has hosted the Accolades Annual Awards luncheon to celebrate the accomplishments of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce, its members, supporters and the business community.

SCWCC Recognized at 2018 CACI Awards

The Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce Received Three Awards at the Colorado Chamber of Commerce Executives (CCCE) Conference!

This May, the Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce (SCWCC) received three awards from the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry (CACI) at the 2018 Colorado Chamber of Commerce Executives (CCCE) Conference held at the Garden of the Gods Collection in Colorado Springs.

CACI recognized SCWCC as one of the top performing Chambers of Commerce in the State of Colorado as follows: 1st place in Increase in Membership, 1st place in Communications, and 2nd place in Increase in Dues Revenue.

We are honored to be recognized by CACI at the statewide level. This past year, SCWCC had a 70% increase in membership. SCWCC also saw significant increases in member engagement and attendance at numerous SCWCC events. Communications and PR campaign efforts have been elevated, in part, through our advertisements on iHeart Radio.

We appreciate our members, volunteers, committee members, board members, and contractors for all their strong dedication and support of SCWCC and our business community.

2017 brings a mix of success, problems

This year will be remembered as the one in which Colorado Springs residents approved funding for schools, for stormwater infrastructure and to help fix the transportation problems on Interstate 25. It’s the year the city decided to take the lead in high-tech broadband by becoming part of U.S. Ignite.

Colorado Springs Movers & Shakers: Ingrid Richter

ingrid-gazetteIngrid Richter has joined the board of the Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce. Richter is executive director of Catalyst Campus for Technology & Innovation.

Before launching the Catalyst Campus, she worked for The O’Neil Group Co. in 2014; was real estate manager for the City of Colorado Springs beginning in 2011; and served one term on the Manitou Springs City Council beginning in 2010.

Richter received a bachelor’s in political science from University of Wisconsin and a master’s in public administration from the University of Colorado.
